Grant Street Group is a growing software and electronic payments company, and our Finance team is passionate about supporting GSG’s mission through accurate and timely transaction recording, managing account reconciliations, invoicing, and maintaining accounting controls.

As an Accountant at GSG, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accounting records are accurately maintained, reporting is completed on a timely basis, and stakeholders have the necessary information to drive business operations. Our ideal candidate has excellent problem-solving skills and a desire to improve and automate processes.

You will partner with our Assistant Controller to ensure Finance continues to deliver timely and accurate financial information. You will be able to contribute to the continued development of the accounting function and to GSG’s overall Finance organization. Through this work, you will have the opportunity to identify and implement process improvements and become a subject matter expert on business processes and Finance-related technology.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Complete month-end close activities, including recurring and non-standard journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis
• Prepare and send client invoices, ensuring accuracy and providing client support, as necessary
• Assist in processing weekly disbursement batches
• Maintain and improve process documentation and identify opportunities for process improvement through design, automation, etc.
• Support annual financial statement audit process
• Lead and execute other internal projects to support the operations of the business

What makes you a good fit? You should have:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or similar
• 2-4 years relevant experience
• Experience following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Exhibiting strong technical accounting skills
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets is required (pivot tables, formulas)
• Attention to detail, organization skills, analytical skills, and collaboration with a team.
• Strong communication skills with the spoken and written word.
• Familiarity with a cloud-based ERP system (like Netsuite, Sage, Certinia) preferred

This position is open to U.S.-based telecommuters. There is minimal travel: ~2 weeks per year for on-site meetings.

Expected Salary Range: $55,000 – $85,000/year
