Annuity Specialist – Claims Job 2024 Full Time

• Adjudicates claims accurately and fairly in accordance with the contract, appropriate claim policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations, meeting productivity and quality standards based on Annuity product.
• Grow product knowledge for both Deferred and Immediate Fixed Annuities.
• Provide customer service that is respectful, prompt, concise, and accurate in an environment with competing demands.
• Physically Processes all death claim transaction types (Single Lump sum Payments to single beneficiaries, Multiple Lump sum payments to multiple beneficiaries, Lump sum payments via Transfer to another carrier, Spousal Continuations, Lifetime Distribution, Five Year Deferrals, Ten Year Deferrals and Annuitizations)
• Determine whether additional data is necessary; calculate the benefits payable and any interest due; ensure that valid claims are reviewed and paid in a prompt and equitable manner or decline payment of benefits via written correspondence or telephone.
• Exhibit excellent verbal and listening skills, be detail oriented and have the desire and ability to provide customer service in a professional positive manner while maintaining an empathetic voice with the beneficiary / representative.
• Take ownership of complex cases and escalate to management as appropriate.
• Ability to build strong relationships with your team and leaders.
• Impeccable organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Effectively manage daily workload by prioritization to ensure all tasks are completed within the established Service Level Agreements for Death Claim Department.
• Establish superior customer service protocols for our contract owner beneficiaries providing a higher level of service during a difficult time.
• Physically Processes and send out Annuitization Quote Letters for beneficiaries sent via email, mail or fax.
• Assist in creating and maintaining client correspondence confirming transaction completeness and accuracy.

• High School Diploma or GED. Associates degree in Business or Finance preferred.
• Minimum 5 years total annuity industry experience, or directly related retirement and financial services experience required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience processing retirement services payments.
• Demonstrated understanding of claim management techniques and critical thinking in activities requiring analysis and/or investigation.
• Experience working in confidential/protected identification environments.
• Good math and calculation skills.
• This associate maintains the highest degree of accuracy in all research and analysis and attends required trainings on an on-going basis.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with a customer relationship management system preferred.
• Ability to work all assigned work schedules/work hours that Management deems necessary. This means the ability to work the entire spectrum of the In-Force Administration Team’s work schedules/work hours in effect at any time – including but not limited to covering both scheduled and unscheduled staff absences through the year.
• This associate maintains the highest degree of accuracy in all research and analysis and attends required trainings on an on-going basis.

Hiring Range: $$25.79 – $$32.25 Hourly

• The hiring range listed in this posting represents the expected hiring range for work performed in the primary location (Philadelphia, PA). If this role is eligible for remote work, or will report to a different office than the one listed above, the hiring range may differ.
