Bistro Server Job 2024 Part Time

Position Summary:

Maintains the highest degree of professionalism while ensuring that each guest is treated as a highly valued individual and vitally important to the success of the operation. Uses proper telephone etiquette, and communicates VIP information to management and service staff.

Essential Functions:

1. Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.

2. Will be in station on time and ready for work.

3. Perform assigned duties before and during shift.

4. Attend pre-shift meeting.

5. Maintain a score of 90% or higher on all written exams, which include Beverage, Food & Service exams which are given quarterly.

6. Must be familiar with menu including glossary of terms, meat & sauce preparation and ingredients to all menu items, daily specials, and prices.

7. Ask about guest’s water preference and inquire about beverages. Always pour beverages from the right and leave the glass or stemware on the table.

8. Maintain water levels during dining experience. All beverages are served from a small cocktail tray.

9. All food courses must be marked with appropriate silverware placed in the proper positions on the table.

10. Ability to perform French, Russian, American, and Buffet style service.

11. Be able to carry loaded large and small trays.

12. When necessary, deliver all food items in a timely and accurate fashion. The Team Member will always us the proper seat and table numbers when delivering food. Food will not be “auctioned” off to any guests. All food will be delivered to the guest from the left hand side using the left hand unless it is liquid, i.e. soups, which are delivered from the right hand side using the right hand. Each menu item will be placed in front of the guest with the main item at the six o’clock position. Team Member will announce the menu items when placing it in front of the guest. Always use a napkin splashguard when pouring beverages at the table.

13. Pre-bus dishes throughout meal leaving only table lamps and whatever the guest is actively drinking for dessert course.

14. Observe and anticipate guest’s needs. Keep table clear of refuse and debris, using a cumber tool between courses when necessary, and refilling beverages throughout the meal.

15. Remove debris from the floor as required or necessary.

16. Monitor booth seats and chairs for crumbs to ensure cleanliness.

17. Will monitor door at all times to ensure guests are seated in a timely fashion.

18. Replace used silverware pieces that are picked up as needed. Replace used napkin with a new one, or fold used napkin onto table in front of setting in a tri-fold fashion, after the guest has departed momentarily.

19. Once guests have left the restaurant, reset table according to Graton Resort & Casino’s Service Standards.

20. Perform all post meal side work, including cleaning all front of the house areas.

21. Assist fellow Team Members in areas as needed.

22. Always conduct oneself in a manner that reflects positive and professional image of Graton Resort & Casino. Any and all guests requesting items of Team Members will be attended to immediately, even if they are not in a Team Member’s assigned station. Team Members will volunteer to retrieve item or assist any guest at any time. Treat the entire dining room as a single station.

23. Knowledge of casino safety procedures and emergency evacuation procedures for the guests and Team Members.

24. Any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

1. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.

2. Ability to demonstrate leadership skills, sound judgment, logical decision making and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.

3. One (1) years’ experience in Gourmet, Fine Dining, or High Volume restaurants.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to lift large oval trays, cocktail trays and bus tubs.

2. Requires manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.

3. Requires the physical ability to walk and stand for long periods of time. Ability to push, stoop, reach above shoulders, grasp, pull, and bend repeatedly with or without assistance.
