Primary Purpose of Position:
Clinical Informatics Specialist position plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between clinical and technology within healthcare settings. This individual is responsible for optimizing the use of technology to enhance patient care delivery, streamline processes, and improve overall outcomes.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate technology solutions in clinical practice.
- Analyze data and information systems to improve clinical workflows and decision-making processes.
- Provide training and support to clinical staff on the use of electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare technologies.
- Develop and implement information security protocols to safeguard patient data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of innovative technology initiatives to enhance patient care quality and efficiency.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in clinical informatics to drive continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.
- Develop client displays and graphical user interfaces that are visually appealing, user-friendly and engaging.
- Ensure excellent User Experience and ensure that outputs are visually appealing, user-friendly, and engaging.
- Deploy developments and monitor uptake by Program staff and end users in the lower environments and use feedback from applicable business units to inform the creation of subsequent versions of each development.
- Participate in requirements analysis, capacity planning, and documentation.
- Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support.
- Confer with other experts, including systems analysts, programmers, and engineers to gather information on project feasibility, limitations, capabilities, requirements, and interfaces.
- Be knowledgeable and adhere to all federal and state regulations regarding the use of data including but not limited to HIPAA, HITECH, NIST, FERPA, etc. in the creation of code and management of data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in using agile methodologies and tools such as Scrum, Kanban, Jira, and Git.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work well in a team setting.
- Highly experienced using Microsoft SQL.
- Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Self-driven, flexible, and innovative.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
- Evaluate and optimize clinical workflows by collaborating with healthcare teams to assess, plan, and implement technology solutions.

- Develop visually appealing, user-friendly, and engaging client displays and graphical interfaces.
- Ensure excellent User Experience (UX) and visually appealing, user-friendly outputs.
Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in clinical domain required; master’s degree in nursing informatics preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare informatics principles, data analysis, and project management.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare software applications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience in clinical practice and a passion for leveraging technology to improve patient care.
- Equivalent experience may be substituted for education on a case-by-case basis.
Education/Experience Preferred:
- 7+ Years .NET Development Experience
- 7+ Years Web Development Experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- HTML 5 Framework experience
- JavaScript Framework Experience
