Who We Need:

The Counterparty Risk Specialist provides support to the Third Party Organization team and is responsible for assisting the Cardinal Financial Counterparty Risk Manager in collecting, storing and analyzing documents necessary for proper vetting of new vendors/Third-Party Originator (TPO) and ongoing vetting of Cardinal’s existing vendors/TPO. This role helps Cardinal to be aware of any risk that vendors/TPO may have which serves to protect the company from possible lawsuits or legal damages. The Counterparty Risk Specialist will assist in onboarding vendors/TPO by coordinating across departments including the requesting business department and the legal department.

What You Will Do:

• Utilizes Counterparty Risk vendor/TPO management software to gather information and documentation for new and renewal applications and ensures all items are up to business policy and standards.
• Maintains consistent communication with the vendors/TPO during the application process and confirms vendors/TPO are in compliance and active/good standing with the state.
• Organizes, documents, and updates the pipeline tracker or log with status, document needs, communications, expiration and due dates for both new and renewal processes.
• Asses risks of vendors/TPO and escalates to management for review.
• Reviews all due diligence findings for the company including Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Licenses, Judgment and Liens, Secretary of State (SOS), Bankruptcy, Federal Criminal and Civil Records, Mortgage and Financial Sanctions, State and Local Criminal Records.
• Coordinates all vendor/TPO approval requests with Counterparty Risk Manager including requesting and reviewing documentation, providing recommendations, and assisting with the vendor/TPO on-boarding process.
• Communicates with Cardinal stakeholders to clarify any questions relating to the vendor/TPO, to assist in risk analysis and to involve other departments if necessary.
• Prepares and drafts DocuSign Packets as needed for Vendors/TPO.
• Utilizes federal and state government websites for risk analysis purposes in obtaining and analysis of publicly recorded documents.
• Assists in offboarding vendors/TPO as may be requested by Cardinal’s business stakeholders.
• Utilizes multiple Risk software to conduct the due diligence review.
• Assists with special projects as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You Need:

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related area preferred.
• 1-2 Years of experience in mortgage process and mortgage documents required.
• 1+ Years experience with policies and procedures required.
• Experience with Venminder and/or Comergence is a plus.
• Ability to relate and communicate in a professional manner with all types of personalities and all levels of management.
• Ability to adapt well to change and demonstrate ownership of role in a fast-paced setting.
• Exceptional decision making, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills are required.
• Strong computer skills in Google.
• Detail Oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to take direction and comprehend training and to work closely within a team structure.
• Working knowledge of vendor/TPO websites, reporting data and escalation processes preferred.
• Detail oriented with project management skills are essential.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from forty seven thousand dollars to sixty nine thousand dollars, determined based on the applicant’s experience, skillset, education, training, certificates, and licenses.
