Position Details

Job Title: Early Math Professional Learning Coordinator

Reports To: Instructional Systems Director

Start Date of Position: August 12th, 2024

Location: Remote with occasional oversight at on-site events across Michigan

Job Description:The role will coordinate the work MAISA will lead around the 23h grant and work in coordination with the MAISA Early Math Project Director. The work includes working collaboratively with the MAISA Early Math Team to develop and implement professional learning plans for ISD Early Math Specialists and local district educators across Michigan, communicating with key stakeholders and problem-resolving when necessary. The position’s term is one year, with the potential for renewal dependent on grant funding and performance review.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Manage 23h project plan; timelines, deliverables, budget, implementation and outcomes
• Collect regular input and interact with project stakeholders and participants
• Collaborate with the MAISA Early Math Team to ensure coherence
• Ability to develop/design professional learning materials/modules
• Present to large groups in ways that are engaging and thoughtful

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education or related field
• Minimum of 5 years experience teaching and/or coaching in the area of mathematics;
• Experience using adult learning principles to facilitate professional learning
• Understanding of the role of ISDs and their relationship with local school districts
• Demonstrated application of project management/leadership skills

Professional competencies desired:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with the Google Suite, Virtual Meetings, and other Educational Technology
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Wages and Benefits:

• An annual salary of $75,000, 401k contribution; health and leave benefits are included

Conditions:

• This is an at-will position and can be terminated by either party.
