Inn Lunch Tea Server – Flex Job 2024 Part Time

$18 – $22/hour average, dependent on business volume & tips (Minimum of $16/hr).

The Tea Server is responsible for coordinating service for guests and communicating with front and back of house personnel to provide a world class dining experience that exceeds guest expectations.

Servers will deliver gracious hospitality and ensure all guests receive friendly, courteous and prompt service at all times following prescribed and established Biltmore service standards.

The Tea Server is responsible for setting up and serving tea and beverage functions while providing excellent customer service. The position will require working flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Weekend & holiday availability required.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Prepare and serve tea and other beverages to guests in a professional and friendly manner.
2. Attend to guest needs and provide excellent customer service.
3. Take accurate orders and process transactions using a point-of-sale system.
4. Maintain knowledge of tea varieties and provide recommendations to guests.
5.Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure that food orders are accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
6.Ensure that tea and beverage service areas are clean and organized at all times.
7. Processes guest orders to ensure that all items are prepared properly and on a timely basis.
8. Present, open, and pour wine when serving guests.
9. Maintains in depth knowledge of complete menu and beverages on hand. Up-sell menu items and beverages accordingly.
10. Ensures that the required uniform is kept clean, neatly pressed and in good repair.
Arrives ready to start work properly attired; full uniform and appropriate foot wear.
11. Must be able to work nights and weekends and potential for holidays.
12. May assist bus person with stocking, removing, and resetting dishes and silverware between courses and cleaning and resetting vacated tables.
13. Will ensure all side duties are fully completed prior to the end of the shift as outlined and in readiness for the next meal period.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma.
2. Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant preferred. The ideal candidate will have had at least six (6) months of related restaurant experience in an upscale setting.
3.Demonstrated commitment to delivering world class guest service and anticipating and exceeding guest expectations.
4. Excellent guest relation and communications skills are a must; should be comfortable and able to offer warm, sincere, and gracious hospitality to guests.
5. Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to handle a variety of guest service situations in a manner consistent with Biltmore standards.
6. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, guest service environment.
7. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
8. Ability to be proactive, exercise good judgment, and take initiative as appropriate.
9. Ability to be professional in both appearance and demeanor in accordance with Biltmore standards.
10. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

1. Lift, carry, push and pull 25–50 pounds; lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a large serving tray, above shoulder level, with one hand, bent in reverse 90 degrees. Servers will run their own food orders.
2. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
3. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
4. The employee will work in a restaurant or kitchen environment.
