Hiring Range: This position’s hiring range is anticipated to be $60,000 to $70,000 annually, depending on experience, plus great benefits!
Interviews will occur weekly until the position is filled.
Summary: This position supports the work of the individual fundraisers at all levels including philanthropy advisors, annual giving officers, and Golden Circle associates. Philanthropy associates will assist with portfolio outreach and planning for visits/outreaches, special experiences, and donor-related events, as well as CRM maintenance and analysis. This position will be heavily focused on supporting events and serving as a liaison between the events team and the fundraisers. Travel throughout the United States to event locations may be required. This position will serve as an important point of contact for constituents and will require outreach through phone, mail, email, and other channels of communications to increase engagement with the organization. This position must be able to promote the goals of Best Friends Animal Society and articulate the mission and strategic priorities. This person will utilize traditional and innovative tactics to deepen donor commitment and expand relationships and will collaborate with others on the Development team and throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist individual fundraisers on major gifts and membership teams by providing appropriate and requested reports from HERO, and analyzing new potential contacts, especially in geographical areas where an event, trip or outreach may be planned/considered.
Analyze and prioritize lists of constituents to focus on the donors and prospects who have the most potential to increase their engagement and/or giving.
Collaborate with fundraisers to determine plans to contact donors on their behalf, suggest donors for in-person meetings, create communications plans, and recommend movement to other fundraising areas and/or possible disqualification.
Where possible and logical, discuss and coordinate among various individual fundraisers [PG, Foundations, Annual Giving Officer, Golden Circle Associate, etc.] any donors in the portfolios that might benefit from an in-person visit during a philanthropy advisor’s upcoming trip to provide an extra engagement opportunity.
Assist all fundraisers in scheduling meetings, identifying potential prospects from other internal sources, and contacting donors as requested, including but not limited to:
Creating HERO (CRM) reports of donors in certain geographic areas to assist with fundraiser trip planning
Reviewing reports from prospect research and analysis team including “Proactive WealthPoint Monthly Screening Report on New Members,” and making outreach/engagement recommendations
Reviewing “Sanctuary Visitor/Volunteer List,” and making outreach/engagement recommendations
Assist assigned fundraisers by completing mass-uploads into HERO when appropriate.
Provide additional HERO (CRM) support to assigned fundraisers as needed and requested.
Assist with special outreach projects (e.g., EOY solicitation letters, “Insider Experience” invitations, specialty letters, etc.).
Identify opportunities to partner and collaborate across various fundraising channels and within DXC including Planned Giving, Membership, Stewardship, etc.
Serve as a philanthropy representative/liaison for donor-related events, such as: “Discovery Weekend,” “Benefit to Save Them All,” “Friends & Founders,” National Conference VIP parties, hosted donor events, and others. This can include, but is not limited to:
Serve as general support at these events as liaison between Events Team and fundraisers.
Assist assigned fundraisers with invitations, tracking donor RSVPs and inputting information into HERO, possible review of collateral, etc.
Attend donor events and serve as a liaison to donors as needed to help with the donor experience, including being “face of event/front of house person” with a development understanding.
Provide timely event related updates to the Chief Development Officer and Philanthropy team.
Coordinate event related mailings such as the Benefit pre-sale letter, ticket letter, etc.
Bulk upload event related donor info (invitations, RSVPs, etc.) into HERO.
Assist with donor stewardship touches that take place at events (gift bags, etc.)
When needed, work with prospect research and analysis team for any necessary research info on attendees of events, and sharing pertinent info (e.g., donor dossiers) with Philanthropy Team members, founders, etc.

Physical Requirements:
Perform daily strenuous activity including, but not limited to lifting up to 40 pounds, carrying, reaching, stooping, squatting, cleaning, and bending.
Work at a computer or driving a car for extended periods of time with repetitive typing, sitting, arm, and hand motion.
Work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
Valid driver’s license, ability to qualify to be added to Best Friends insurance, ability to travel, including overnight stays, when needed.
Daily hours and days of the week may vary according to the needs of the department schedule.
