Summary
The Senior Product Manager will ensure long term success by creating and directing both short- and long-term strategic market development, and financial management functions, including profit and loss from an overall business perspective.
Key Responsibilities
The role will be responsible to oversee the cross functional execution of product management from manufacturing through all market channels
Essential to the role requires expertise in product development including an in-depth understanding and mastery of product performance evaluation (experimental design, statistical analysis), formulation chemistry, agronomic expertise in applied biochemistry, soil chemistry, soil physics, plant physiology and pathology
- Working in conjunction with all business units, operation and logistics, develop and execute a long-term business platform that optimizes the product’s development and maximizes the product’s profitability from an overall business perspective. Develop and execute annual business and financial plans.
- Working in conjunction with all business units, develop and execute volume and pricing strategies that are aligned and consistent with overall product objectives. On an ongoing basis, manage product pricing.
Typical Education
BACHELORS – Bachelor’s Degree from 4-year college or university in an agronomy related field
Masters or PHD in agronomy field is preferred but not required.
Relevant Experience
10+ years related experience and/or training
Other Information
In-depth knowledge of the Agribusiness products portfolio, manufacturing, product costs, logistics cost, territories, customers, geographies, competitor products and capabilities.
Knowledge of the turf and horticultural marketplace, industry, purchasing, and logistics.
A comprehensive understanding of and the ability to working in a cooperative action with sales, marketing, regulatory, accounting, operational, procurement, and administrative functions related to supporting the product line.
