Job Description
SUMMARY: The Public Relations Associate is responsible for creating press materials, researching media contacts, supporting school marketing, tracking media coverage and managing syndication and managing a student story database to distribute stories for media and social media campaigns.
Overall, the role requires strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills to effectively support the organization’s public relations efforts.

- Develop Press Materials: Create news releases, media pitches, and interview briefings to communicate key messages to the media and the public effectively.
- Research Media Contacts: Identify and research journalists, bloggers, and influencers for PR campaigns, and craft personalized pitches to support outreach strategies.
- Support School Marketing: Build awareness for our K12 schools in local markets by creating media materials, and working on campaigns that highlight students and the schools’ benefits and successes.
- Support Local PR Agencies: Assist the Public Relations Manager in coordinating campaigns, reviewing work, and providing feedback to ensure local PR agencies align with the organization’s goals and standards.
- Track Media Coverage: Monitor media coverage regularly and prepare reports on PR activities and results to evaluate the effectiveness of PR strategies and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with Marketing: Work with the marketing team to ensure consistency in K12’s messaging and brand voice across all communications, maintaining a unified and coherent brand image.
- Manage Syndication: Use wire services to distribute press releases and other materials, managing the syndication process to maximize the reach and impact of the organization’s messages.
- Coordinate with Cross-Departmental Teams: Work with various departments within the organization to support PR needs, ensuring all aspects of the organization’s operations align with its public relations strategies.
- Manage Student Story Database: Manage a database of student stories and distribute these stories to appropriate contacts for media and social media campaigns, ensuring that the achievements and experiences of students are effectively shared.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in public relations or communications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Web proficiency.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to clear required background check.

- This position is remote and open to residents of the 50 states, D.C. We anticipate the salary range to be 48,418.50 to $62,944.05. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
