Anju is a restaurant concept by The Fried Rice Collective (CHIKO, I Egg You, TFRC Catering) founded by award-winning Chefs Danny Lee, Scott Drewno, and Executive Chef Angel Barreto. Anju serves eclectic Korean cuisine in a beautiful and vibrant atmosphere, paying homage to traditional and modern Korean culture aspects.
Anju received its acclaim by being voted DC’s #1 restaurant on Washingtonian Magazine’s list of DC’s ‘Very Best’ 100 restaurants, garnering a rare 3-star review (excellent) by renowned Washington Post critic Tom Sietsema and we also received a top 10 ranking for his fall dining guide.
Executive Chef Angel Barreto was awarded Rising Culinary Star at the Rammys and was also a James Beard semifinalist in the Spring of 2020. Additionally, Co-Owner Danny Lee was nominated as a James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef Mid-Atlantic in the Spring of 2020. While Co-Owner Scott Drewno has received the coveted “Chef of the Year” prize twice.
