Server – Cajun/Creole Restaurant

Company Overview: Welcome to Barbue, a vibrant and authentic Cajun/Creole restaurant nestled in the heart of Eastdale Village. Our establishment is dedicated to bringing the flavors and traditions of Louisiana to Poughkeepsie, offering a unique dining experience that celebrates the rich culinary heritage of the Bayou. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and hospitable individuals to join our team as servers.

Position: Server

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY

Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome guests warmly, providing an exceptional dining experience with attentive service that reflects true Southern hospitality.
• Knowledgeably describe menu items, including Cajun and Creole specialties such as gumbo, oysters, étouffée, and po’boys, offering recommendations and answering questions.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring each dish is prepared to guests’ preferences and delivered promptly.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and bartenders to ensure seamless communication and efficient service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including setting and clearing tables and resetting for the next guests.
• Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and courteous manner, resolving issues promptly to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Process payments and operate the POS system accurately, including handling cash transactions and reconciling sales at the end of shifts.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a server in a fast-paced restaurant environment, preferably with knowledge of Cajun/Creole cuisine.
• Passion for hospitality and a genuine desire to create memorable dining experiences for guests.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse clientele.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a positive attitude and willingness to assist coworkers as needed.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
