The server/host position is a customer facing position, serving our guests and being at their beck and call. This position requires that guests are treated with kindness, warmth, honesty, and care. The Royal Tea Room is a sophisticated, up-scale establishment and the server is crucial in making guests feel welcome and important. The server is expected to stay busy, even in down time. This means polishing silverware, checking the cleanliness of the bathroom, mopping, sweeping, food prepping, etc. If you prefer standing around during down time, this may not be the job for you.
Required: You will be required to obtain an Illinois Food Handling Card within 30 days of hire. This class can be taken online and will be your own expense (approx. $7).
Hours: This is a part-time position with schedule flexibility.
Available working hours:
- Tuesday-Friday: 9:30am – (approx.) 3: 30pm
- Saturday & Sunday: 9:30am – (approx.) 6pm
- Other: Special event hours as needed
Wage: Based on experience. Training wage is $8.40/hr. 60/90/365 evalutaions will occur and a wage increase will be considered at that time.
