Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing general accounting tasks, including financial record keeping, reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

To be considered for this role, you must physically reside in AZ or CA. Preferably Phoenix, AZ area and Sacramento/Irvine CA.

The salary range for this role is $65k-$85k

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare and post journal entries, maintain balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
• Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations, including bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger accounts.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the monthly preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Audit Support: Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
• Compliance and Process Improvement: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls while identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
• Expense Management: Review and process expenses, ensure proper allocation, and identify areas for cost savings.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar role.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP)
• Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: Knowledge and experience with GAAP, sales tax, acquisitions, intercompany transactions, or full cycle inventory accounting preferred
