Student Success Advisor/ Externship Coordinator (Online Medical Assistant Program) Job 2024 Full Time

Position Overview

CapYear Academy is seeking a dedicated and organized Student Success Advisor to support students enrolled in the Academy’s online Medical Assistant program. The ideal candidate will coordinate externships, provide personalized support to ensure students stay on track, and help learners prepare for the workforce by offering resume and interview coaching. This position plays a critical role in fostering student success and ensuring learners are ready for career opportunities upon program completion.

Key Responsibilities

Externship Coordination:

• Identify and establish relationships with healthcare facilities to secure externship placements for Medical Assistant students.
• Guide students through externship application, documentation, and scheduling processes.
• Serve as the primary contact for students and externship sites, resolving any concerns and ensuring a smooth placement experience.

Student Support & Retention:

• Monitor student engagement and academic progress to ensure students are meeting their program milestones and deadlines.
• Provide individualized academic support and guidance to help students overcome challenges and successfully complete the program.
• Proactively reach out to at-risk students, providing the necessary resources to keep them on track.

Career Preparation:

• Assist students with resume development and tailoring their applications to the medical assistant field.
• Conduct mock interviews, provide feedback, and prepare students for job interviews.
• Organize career readiness workshops and webinars on topics such as job search strategies, networking, and professional development.

Data Management & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of student progress, externship placements, and job placement outcomes.
• Work within CapYear Academy CRM and LMS to track student progress
• Provide regular updates and reports on student success metrics, including retention and employment rates.

Required Qualifications:

• Previous experience coordinating medical externships is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in student advising, career services, or a related field, preferably in healthcare education or online learning.
• Familiarity with medical assistant training programs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a student-centered approach.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, learning management systems (LMS), and virtual communication platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in healthcare education or with medical assistant programs.
• Familiarity with externship coordination, especially in the medical field.
• Experience working in an online learning environment.

Compensation:

• Salary range: $60,000 – $70,000, based on experience.
• Full-time position with a comprehensive health insurance package.
