Position Description

XPRIZE is seeking an experienced Team Relations Manager to play an integral role during the competition phase of the Quantum Applications Prize. This person will lead external communications with current and potential competing Teams during the competition, become intimately familiar with the prize guidelines and other competition documents to answer inbound general information, procedural, and logistical questions, and, in coordination with the internal team, answer technical questions about the prize. They will also play a key role in hosting and organizing Team events by working closely with the Marketing/Communications Team. They will drive team recruitment and team management with support from XPRIZE IT staff, online platforms and tools. They will develop high-quality Team status reports for internal updates and the sponsors, contribute ideas to the Team recruitment strategy, execute Team outreach and webinars, and develop materials for Team recruitment and informational sessions.

Team Relations Responsibilities:

• Support the development and execution of the Team recruitment strategy in coordination with rest of operations team and marketing
• Lead communication efforts with existing, potential and future competing Teams
• Communicate on complex technical topics related to quantum technology in collaboration with the rest of the operations team
• Develop materials for Team recruitment, respond to team questions, co-host webinars, and relay specific questions/issues to the corresponding department/person for resolution
• Assist in tracking and organizing inbound comments on the Competition Guidelines and other documents developed by the operations team in collaboration with the advisory board and judging panel
• Participate in relevant online communities discussions to drive participation in the prize
• Identify and participate in prize-related events virtually and in-person representing the prize to expand the ecosystem
• Organize and lead Team informational webinars
• Work closely with IT to customize XPRIZE’s online competition portal (Prize Operations Platform, aka “POP”) for Team management, prize submissions, and judging
• Manage and monitor the Team Slack channel
• Ensure alignment of Team activities with competition guidelines and other competition documents
• Support other project management activities as needed

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of relevant professional experience managing external communities, project management, competitions, and related projects
• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience with community management
• Experience with data analysis
• Light programming / scripting experience required, Python coding experience is preferred;
• Knowledge of Quantum SDKs is a plus
• Experience managing and customizing technology platforms
• Direct experience and knowledge in the domains of quantum algorithms strongly preferred
• Curious, motivated, and interested to learn more about the rapidly expanding world of quantum technology
• Ability to lead or co-lead senior-level meetings, webinars, workshops, etc.
• Experience building and working with partner organizations, and external communities
• Excellent business and technical writing and professional verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and situational awareness

The anticipated base salary for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 and may also qualify for an annual incentive. This role is eligible for our extensive benefits package and generous paid time off including vacation, sick, and holidays. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience for the role, level of education attained, and certifications and/or other licenses held. XPRIZE is a remote-first environment.
