About the Role:
The Team:
The Upstream Commercial Technical Specialists Team is responsible for the customer experience and revenue growth of Upstream clients and prospects. The role sits with the Global Sales Specialist Team and reports to the Americas Director of Sales Specialists. This role requires close coordination with the Sales Teams, Marketing team, Client Services, Content team and Product team.
Responsibilities and Impact:
Ultimate responsibility for getting the “technical win” in a sales pursuit.
Collaborate with Commercial Managers designing and implementing winning strategies for selling and adding value to existing and prospective customers.
Perform business and technical discovery with customer prospects and build proposed solutions.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
BS in Geoscience/Engineering/Data Science; MS preferred but not required.
3+ years in a customer facing Pre-Sales, customer care or implementation role.
Prior experience with Oil & Gas Data and its application by E&P companies
Experience with cloud technologies – SaaS applications, cloud infrastructure, Data Analytics, etc.
Soft Skills:
Passion for demonstrating solutions and ability to provide technical/product input during the sales process.
Excellent customer-facing communication and organization skills
Ability to learn new technologies, new concepts and to solve problems.
Ability to describe complex technical/product concepts to diverse audiences: executives, business stakeholders and technology practitioners.
Ability to travel as needed and to work flexible hours throughout the sales territory.
Right to Work Requirements:
This role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.
